The arcVision Prize – Women and Architecture, the international social architecture award for female designers instituted by Italcementi, saw its first edition on March 7th, 2013, at i.lab, the Italcementi Research & Innovation Center in Bergamo.

The all-female Jury is composed of architects and professionals from different fields, with a broad background of knowledge in promoting a new cultural geography where the innovative work of the designers is expected to converge.
Design by architect Dominique Perrault the French National Library is considered the first example of minimalist modern architecture on a large scale. Noteworthy is the use of materials: concrete structures and technological systems are left exposed to liven up the squared forms that characterize the whole building.
