“Tribute to the craftsman” wins the prize of #Concrete In Design Contest

The project “Tribute to the craftsman” by Luca Galbusera – thirty years old designer born in Lombardia – won the international competition #In Concrete Design , sponsored by Italcementi and Alessi.

Addressed to young people interested in experiencing new forms of expression with high performances concrete i.design Effix.

“Tribute to the craftsman” is presented by the author with the intent to emphasize the importance of the craftsman, not only as individual worker, but as guardian of his art. A worker that, in essence, is a full-time professional operator (of) in their own discipline.

Two-hundred creatives from 112 countries partecipated in the context with 302 proposals. The mock up of the winning and other projects – selected through www.desall.com, the web platform for participatory design of new products and digitalization of the creative process – will be presented on March 21st at the Alessi showroom in Milano.

Luca Galbusera

Born in 1984, Luca Galbusera was trained at the School of Design at the Politecnico di Milano. He currently operates in the field of interior design, working with business companies and professionals. In February 2014 he will be guest of Italcementi at i.lab Centre for Research and Innovation and will participate at a workshop organized by LPWK Design Studio Polinoro Laura , who has been working with Alessi for the organization of workshops in design around the world since several years. The winning project will be expanded and improved at i.lab, in order to develop a new product that could become part of a future Alessi collection.
