FyM has reached an agreement with the University of Malaga to create a new department, the “Department of Innovation in Construction Materials”.

The new department will establish forms of cooperation between the School of Architecture of the UMA and FyM in order to promote training and joint R&D and education initiatives for the social promotion of cement, mortar, concrete and new construction materials.
The Department of Innovation in Construction Materials is directed at second-year architecture students and the teaching team will be made up of professors from the University of Malaga’s School of Architecture. For FyM the agreement is one more step in the development of innovation through the training of future professionals.

The Italcementi Group’s current cooperation agreements with the education community include partnerships similar to the project in Spain in other countries in which the Group operates.
In Egypt for example, Helwan Cement Company has agreements with the El Minya Education Department and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of El Minya. The company is partnering the university to install a computer laboratory and a language laboratory, and organize a training course for 40 students and a workshop on the properties and applications of white cement, in cooperation with the Polytechnic of Milan. As part of the initiative, the company will award a 20,000 euro scholarship to enable the best engineering graduate at El Minya University to follow a master’s degree in Civil Engineering at Milan Polytechnic.
